Allen Clark

BIO

I help organizations and individuals reach their potential, connecting with advocates and customers. My work combines my experience in strategy, communication, and public affairs.

Prior to moving back to Michigan I spent 25 years in Washington, DC working for the White House, NASA, several Members of Congress, and campaigns for US President and US Congress. I also led engagement teams for several communication agencies helping non-profits and corporations.

For fun I play tennis, read, ride mountain bike, run (sometimes), drink local IPA beers, enjoy photography, and listen to music

Q&A

Q: What brought you into The Factory?
A: After helping launch an electric vehicle company in Ann Arbor for a $16B multinational company, I decided to move back to my hometown of Grand Rapids and begin my own Communications / Marketing firm.

After attending a Grand Rapids coworking crawl, I chose The Factory because of the good "mojo" and community feel.

Q: What do you like most about what you do?
A: I like working hard and making magic happen.

Q: If you could trade places with a person you admire for the day, who would that be and what would you be doing?
A: I would really enjoy working for the Red Cross on site helping people following a disaster. My imagination of the job is that it would be equal parts of helping people in clear need, being resourceful, and team work.

Q: What is your favorite local eatery around The Factory and what do you order?
A: Fortunately we are lucky to be surrounded by many fine eateries, but my favorite is probably San Chez. San Chez is phenomenal after work and on weekends. But I also like their lunch special of a soup and salad. Every day is a different soup and salad made from scratch. Yum!

Q: When you have free time, what hobby are you passionately pursuing?
A: I am a learning curve junky, I love to learn new things. My latest hobby or thing I am trying to learn is producing my own podcast..... stay tuned.
