Part-Time Instructor (UX Design)

coLearning builds project-based learning communities around technology, design, and business innovation. Our 12-week courses move learning out of individual isolation into collective communities where participants are challenged by area professionals and peers. Beyond formal instruction, coLearners support each other in being better communicators, collaborators and experience more diverse perspectives. You’ll guide coLearners through a transformative experience that will help them develop and apply the practice, principles and methodologies of a user experience practitioner.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Possess a passion for UX Design and an eagerness to grow other curious people.
  • Have 3+ years of experience implementing UX Design shown in your work.
  • Have at least to 5 years of career experience.
  • Able to clearly communicate successful UX Design project delivery to people with different experience levels.
  • Previous teaching and/or speaking experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Commit to teaching 2 coLearning courses per year.
  • Attend and facilitate all sessions of class. Each course is 2.5 hours, once a week, for 12 weeks.
  • Attend Orientation and Graduation sessions surrounding the course kick-off and completion.
  • Help enhance the existing coLearning curriculum for UX Design.
  • Instruct using project-based learning. Putting less time toward lectures and more on collaborative sessions.
  • Provide assistance and communication to coLearning class as needed, utilizing internal communication tools like slack, email, etc...
  • Help share your course offering to the community.
  • Take weekly class attendance of coLearners present.
  • Attend 2 Studio Tours during each course that are setup by coLearning staff.
  • Encourage coLearners to attend outside events that support the coLearning course.
  • Attend our Teacher Lounge sessions that gather other coLearning instructors to focuses on building better instructors.
